Main panel of an altarpiece installed in 1494 in the Mascalzoni chapel of the church of Cestello (today Santa Maria Maddalena dei Pazzi) in Florence, entered the Louvre in 1812. The predella, comprising three painted medallions (the Angel and the Virgin of the Annunciation on either side of a Christ in the tomb) is still in place in the church, integrated into the framework of a later painting.
